Eudora Middle School
For the second part of my semester, my placement is with the Eudora Middle School and the Eudora HIgh School. I am very lucky to get this opportunity to work with 6th through 12th grade students and look forward to working with Mr. Austin Lauxman over the next nine weeks. Everyday I have the opportunity to work with each age group.
Currently our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are working on color theory and they are all working on painting there color wheel. Unfortunately Eudora does not have an elementary art program so many of these students ar getting introduced to art for the first time.

Eudora High School
Within the high school we have two art teachers. There is a drawing course offered to the students independently from the regular Art I, Art 2, and Advanced Art classes offered. For this placement I am going to make the advanced art students my focus group and tomorrow we begin our first lesson. I am so excited to work this group of students. I have eight students in the class and I am looking forward to seeing how they react to some of my ideas and lessons. They are a bit outside of the box but I want to push these students outside of their comfort zone. Critical thinking and problem solving are essential to the art curriculum and now that they have developed some technical skills, I look forwards to seeing how they can apply them to our projects this semester.
Advanced art / Art for Social change project
Advanced art students have a unique opportunity to create art that promotes awareness.
