Introduction: Let;s take a look at the following sculpture.
Frances Bruno Catalano: Life time artist and sailor“‘I have traveled a lot and I left Morocco when I was 12 years old. I felt that a part of me was gone and will never come back.‘From years of being a sailor, I was always leaving different countries and places each time and it’s a process that we all go through.”
Create an assemblage sculpture using a suitcase and meaningful objects. You will paint. sculpt, draw, collage and express your identity through symbolism. More importantly, we will learn how to think like artist, and show how art is a powerful means of expressing our feelings, emotions, in making a statement.

Try a variety of cloth and paper dye techniques - from batik to traditional tie-dye and learn a variety of ways to color your world.
Day One: Learning the concept of Wax resist. Patterns: Lines: Shapes:
Day two: Learn the ancient tradition of Batik; begin planning, and drawing design
Day Three: Begin adding wax and dye to our cloth
Day Four: Complete the dying and iron out the wax from our cloth'
Day five: Learn fun folds and banding techniques to create various tie-dye effects.
